Amber Valletta for VOGUE, March 2011

It just so happens that March is the month of my birthday, and I feel like I received a small gift inside the folds of this month's VOGUE --an editorial featuring my most favorite face, model Amber Valletta in photographed by Steven Klein.  I suppose it could be thought of as lame that I get excited when I see her in the latest editorial, or that I think she is the most talented model out there.  She is effortless in the 70s-inspired whimsy of Jil Sanders, Oscar de la Renta, D&G, and others with bright pinks and coral oranges, navy blues and black.  For me she is Jackie-O reincarnate;  her editorial pays homage to an Alfred Hitchcock film, and alludes to nautical fashion, escape, and time travel.  And every now and then I allow myself to live vicariously through her.
